what is chilli? the link in bio that turns followers into action

chilli is the link in bio for impact. Your followers tap it and actually do something: send the email, make the call, back your work.

4 min readupdated

You post about the thing that makes your blood boil. 40,000 people like it. A few hundred share it. Then everyone scrolls on and the pipeline, the whale hunt or the bad bill carries on exactly as before.

chilli fixes the gap between "this is outrageous" and "here's what we did about it". It's one link where your followers stop watching and start acting.

the short version

chilli is the link in bio for impact. Instead of a list of links, your audience lands on things they can do right now: email a minister, call an office, flood a CEO's comments, review a company on Google Maps. Each one takes seconds, and each one lands in a real inbox, phone line or comment section.

You create the ask. chilli does the heavy lifting: it writes a personalised version of the message for every supporter, counts every completion and gives you a way to tell people what happened next.

what your followers actually see

When someone taps your link, they land on an action: a page with an image, a title, a short "why it matters" story and a list of ways to help. A way to help is one concrete task, like "send email" or "call".

They pick one, check the pre-written message (already personalised for them), and hit send. Then they get a thank-you, the next way to help, and a counter showing how many people did the same. That last bit matters more than you'd think: people follow momentum.

what you get as a creator

  • a profile at app.chilli.club/profiles/yourname, built to be your link in bio: your pinned action up top, all your actions, a "fund my work" section and an "about me".
  • actions with as many ways to help as the fight needs, across six types: email, social comment, Google Maps review, phone call, survey and external link. More on those in ways to help, explained: every type of action on chilli.
  • supporters: anyone who follows you or takes part in one of your actions. They get notified when you publish something new.
  • updates ("the fight so far"): short posts on your action page that go out to supporters by email and push, so nobody wonders whether it worked.
  • a dashboard, as soon as your first action exists: a getting-started checklist, all your actions and drafts in one place, community, your community insights (how many supporters you have, how many ways to help they've completed, where they are, how old they are, and how each action is doing) and, once donations are on, your revenue.
  • a "fund" button so your community can back your work, one-time or monthly. chilli takes a 0% platform fee. Banking fees (2.9% plus €0.25, $0.30 or £0.20 per payment, charged by banks and card networks) are deducted from each donation, and the optional tip supporters add goes to chilli on top, never from you. Donations are switched on per account, so ask the chilli team.

Caroline Gleich used chilli to turn a quiet approval process for a 40,000-acre data center in Utah into a national fight. The pressure helped push a 75% scale-down, from 40,000 acres to around 10,000.

what chilli is not

  • not a petition site. Petitions collect names. chilli sends messages to named people with the power to decide, and counts them.
  • not an NGO. You lead. Your voice, your fights, your community. We build the infrastructure.
  • not a doom feed. Every problem on chilli comes with something to do about it. We don't mourn the planet, we fight for it.
  • not another link tree. A link tree sends people somewhere else and hopes. chilli keeps them on a page built to get the thing done, and shows you the result.

who it's for

Creators on Instagram or TikTok, from 10k to 1M+ followers, who talk about climate, oceans, animals, democracy or justice and are tired of posting into the void. If your comments are full of "what can I do?", you already have the demand. chilli is the answer you link to.

It works for organisations too, but this hub is written for creators.

is it free?

Yes, chilli is free to use. Creating actions costs nothing, and when donations are on for your account, chilli takes a 0% platform fee. Banking fees (2.9% plus €0.25, $0.30 or £0.20 per payment, charged by banks and card networks) are deducted from each donation, and we still cover currency conversion, cash out fees, bank disputes and the cost of refunds. Supporters can add an optional tip to chilli on top, which goes 100% to us, never from you, and keeps the lights on.
